Two of my favourite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Joining Ginny for Yarn Along.
On my needles this week a little something for me, a shawl. I figure this is perfect to keep the winter chill off now and in the spring, the perfect thing to wear on those fresh, cool spring days. This is my first experience knitting a shawl and my first time knitting with mohair. So far, both are going well.
And on the reading front, I am stilling working on John Holt's How Children Fail and The Chicken Whisperer's Guide to Keeping Chickens by Andy Schneider and Dr. Brigid McCrea. This week though I did squeeze in some time to read one of my favourite magazines, The Green Parent. Love it!!!
What are you reading and knitting this week?
oooh - I think I need to start a shawl soon. I love the wood bowl you have it in.
ReplyDeleteI love knitting it and can't wait to wear it. The bowl was made by my father in law, he turns bowls. Our home is filled with them. We love them!
DeleteI am in love with the shawl that you are knitting for me! (bats eyelashes)
ReplyDeleteKeep batting those eyelashes. Let me get this one finished then I can get started on one for you :)
DeleteI've never knit a shawl before...hmm, maybe I also need one for Springtime? That wooden bowl is beautiful, did you make it?
ReplyDeleteI think you do need one Lydia, any excuse to knit, right? Thank you, my father in law made the bowl, he is a wood turner. Our home is filled with bowls made by him, he is very talented.
DeleteHow lovely and I adore that wooden bowl!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Brooke!! Wooden bowls are on display all over our home. Maybe I should do a post on my talented father in law...
DeleteYour knitted mohair shawl looks delicious Kim, beautiful colour...........knitting socks is easier than it looks, you should take the plunge. x
ReplyDeleteThanks Lily! I will take that plunge soon, I promise :)
DeleteI like doing shawls although I have given them all away so I don't own one myself! Ha!
ReplyDeleteI need to check out this magazine you have posted, I haven't heard of it before. I learn so much from these Yarn Alongs!
So far I am enjoying it. It knits up really easy. The Green Parent is from the UK, super magazine. I pick it up at Chapters.
Deletesigh... my knitting needles are staring at me from across the room. I think they're lonely. Love this yarn you're working with. Can't wait to see the end result.
ReplyDeleteWell, get on over there Lisa and pick them up. And join the Yarn Along, I find it keeps me on my toes having to share something each week.
DeleteIt looks so soft and fuzzy!
ReplyDeleteIt is, and I can't wait to wear it.
DeleteBeautiful color! Every mama needs a shawl, I think. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, and I totally agree :)
