Our Weekend

He really wants to open them :)

Here he goes!

A lovely handmade Waldorf doll that I won in a giveaway from this lovely little shop

Seeds mom!! So excited to open his own little garden in an egg carton.

A card from his nana and papa with a little money for a treat.

Amazing!

That pretty much describes our weekend. We started the weekend on Friday morning hanging out in the forest with some friends. We carefully left scrapes of yarn and fabric in the trees hoping the birds will make good use of it to make their nests. Then we sat around a fire, enjoying snacks and good conversation. We spent a little time tidying up at home in the afternoon and enjoyed homemade pizza for dinner.

First thing Saturday morning I headed out to do a few quick errands and sneak in a little reading at the cofffee shop while Justin and Reece got a fire started so we could boil down some sap. We spent most of the day and late into the evening tending that fire and watching the sap turn into syrup. I said it last year and I will say it again...it is so worth the wait.

We enjoyed our maple syrup on pancakes Sunday morning after Reece opened a few surprise Easter gifts. We visited with Justin's family on Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a lovely dinner with them.

Today, yes this weekend still has one more day, we have friends coming over and there are plans for a little nature adventure at the conservation area and maybe a picnic, if the weather cooperates. Fingers crossed.

How was your weekend?

  4. That doll is simply beautiful! I love the garden-in-an-egg-carton idea. My children got seed packets in their baskets & a sunflower each to plant from my parents. We're going to be starting a lot of seeds this week, I think!

Enjoy the extra day in your weekend! xo
