Amazing!
That pretty much describes our weekend. We started the weekend on Friday morning hanging out in the forest with some friends. We carefully left scrapes of yarn and fabric in the trees hoping the birds will make good use of it to make their nests. Then we sat around a fire, enjoying snacks and good conversation. We spent a little time tidying up at home in the afternoon and enjoyed homemade pizza for dinner.
First thing Saturday morning I headed out to do a few quick errands and sneak in a little reading at the cofffee shop while Justin and Reece got a fire started so we could boil down some sap. We spent most of the day and late into the evening tending that fire and watching the sap turn into syrup. I said it last year and I will say it again...it is so worth the wait.
We enjoyed our maple syrup on pancakes Sunday morning after Reece opened a few surprise Easter gifts. We visited with Justin's family on Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a lovely dinner with them.
Today, yes this weekend still has one more day, we have friends coming over and there are plans for a little nature adventure at the conservation area and maybe a picnic, if the weather cooperates. Fingers crossed.
How was your weekend?

Our weekend was fun! We drove to Italy! Found fairy land and took a nap. Sounds like you really did have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe did and your weekend sounds wonderful too!
DeleteWe returned yesterday and I'm still getting settled in. Love the bright doll!! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteAlways hard getting settling in after being away.
Deletewe're taking today as the weekend too ;-) your weekend sounds lovely, hope the weather holds and you're able to get outside today!
ReplyDeleteIt held off perfectly, and we enjoyed some time outside and a little picnic under the trees :)
DeleteThat doll is simply beautiful! I love the garden-in-an-egg-carton idea. My children got seed packets in their baskets & a sunflower each to plant from my parents. We're going to be starting a lot of seeds this week, I think!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the extra day in your weekend! xo
Thanks, I loved it when I opened it up. We will be planting this week too :) Enjoy!
Deletesounds like a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks, it was!
DeleteWhat a cute doll--love the hair. We traveled to visit family this weekend. It was fun, but makes for a sleepy Monday.
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, sleepy Monday for sure, enjoy it.
DeleteWell someone received some very nice Easter treat ~ how cute is that doll and the seed set is brilliant! We spent a lot of time outdoors on Sat and a very quiet dinner on Sunday. Just about perfect. Hope the sun cooperated for you today :)
