"A photo of my little man, once a week, every week, in 2015"

Reece, we were both hoping to wake to snow this morning. We had grand plans to hike and play in the fluffy white stuff, but it missed us, and we awoke to sunshine and chilly temperatures. Still, a good day for a hike in the woods, and a little seed pod collecting, which is exactly what we did this morning. We returned home with rosy cheeks and red noses, ready for the first hot chocolate of the season. Goodness, it was so delicious! Watching you in the woods this morning I noticed how much you have grown, both physically and emotionally. This transition we are moving through has brought about big change in our life together, but it has also brought about big change in you. Your confidence is growing, and all of sudden you are very independent, taking on jobs and chores around here without being asked, you are stepping out of you own boundaries, and finding joy as you open yourself up to possibility. It is a joy to witness this growth in you, to be a little part of the young man you are becoming.

    1. Yes, you can feel it in the air too. We had a few flurries, but nothing that lasted. We are anxiously awaiting that first big snowfall :)

  4. Such a beautiful post to read. I'm glad you are both finding solace in each other and creating this wonderful new life together. We were hoping for snow as well. We got about 6 flurries (honestly... Little Miss counted them!) and then like you, the sun came shining through.

Wishing you snow this week. We are off the radar with sun and cold for the next 5 days. But like you, these bright sunny days make me so happy. :-)

    1. Thank you Yanic. This last week has shown me that there is so much light to come my friend. I know this path won't be easy, and both Reece and I will have our moments, but we have each other, and that alone will help us through anything.

Yes, flurries here too, but nothing to really speak of. We want the big snowfall!!! Fingers crossed it comes soon, but sadly, we have some warmer weather coming this week. It will be here soon, I hope :)

  5. I am glad you and Reece are adjusting to your new normal. I'm sure there'll be some bumps in the road, but I believe the two of you will handle those together. We've had some chilly days and nights, but tonight will be our first hard freeze. Not really ready for snow myself yet... ;-)

    1. Thank you Anke. Yes, bumps are inevitable, on any journey, but I know with this one there will definitely be a few.

Enjoy the cooler weather, it means you can wear all your knits :)

  6. Such a great photo. It seems like Finn and Reece are on a similar emotional path these days. There is talk of possible snow here on Wednesday, but it probably won't come down this low...... Happy Monday!

    1. Thanks Taryn! So Finn is handling things well then too. It is amazing to witness their journey isn't it? To see how they handle things, and how these struggles create a springboard for their growth. It is not a transition I wished for my little man, but I am so impressed with how he is handling it, and so very proud of him.

I hope you get that snow, and if you do, toss a snowball for us :)

  9. Beautiful words, and a time for growth for both of you. How well Reece is handling this situation must be credit not just to the wonderful start you have given him in his life already, but also how well you have and are handling the situation too - both with him and in your own right XXX

    1. Thank you Sally, and yes, lots of growth happening in both of us lately. Big thanks for those kind and sweet words, I am not sure what exactly has helped Reece move through this transition as well as he has, but I am so grateful for whatever it is :)
