"A photo of my little man, once a week, every week, in 2015"

Reece, after our first week of grade 1 it was wonderful to spend time in the woods with our friends yesterday morning. You ran free, climbed, laughed, watched a baby turtle in the water, played by the water with jewelweed and feathers, and came home with a few scrapes and bruises. Towards the end of our walk we all stopped to watch the swans in the water, three mamas with their cygnets. I love capturing you in these thoughtful moments, I can tell that you are truly connected, fully aware. I hope wherever your path leads you, you will always be able to find moments to fully connect to the world around you.

  1. Oh how exciting to be starting first grade, and what a lovely way to celebrate :). Kitty finished her first week too which we rounded off with a trip for ice cream and a play in the sensory garden at our local park - bliss!

    1. I hope it is something he always has the power to do, to be fully aware of the world around him, and to sink into it.

It is, and he loves it. I have convinced him to get a little trim, it really needs it :)

    1. Thanks Karen. You know I didn't even snap a photo of the swans. They were gorgeous, and the cygnets were beautiful. If we go back soon I will be sure to get a photo for you :)

  6. Time in nature always feels extra special when we're lucky enough to see animals in their home patch, the swans must have been lovely to see but I think I'm more envious of the baby turtle, not something we see over here. I'm not surprised Reece was connected, it sounds a wonderful morning.

    1. Oh yes, indeed! We were very lucky last Friday morning. The swans were amazing, but you are right, it is not often we see a turtle either, so that was definitely the highlight of the morning.
