"A photo of my little man, once a week, every week, in 2015"

Reece, the unofficial end of summer is here, and to say we enjoyed our summer would be an understatement. This summer was fantastic in so many ways. Summer nature camp in July, lots of nature adventures with friends, time at the beach, visits from faraway friends, time at home, and in the garden, and lots of moments of open space to just be. It truly was wonderful. And now, we step forward into a new homeschooling year with great excitement. You, little man, are starting grade 1. Honestly, I am not sure how that happened. How that sweet little baby I held in my arms is now in grade 1, but you are, and you are so very excited for the adventures that await us. You are most excited about learning to knit with needles, and can't wait to start reading. I am most excited to be along for the ride, to watch you unfold and grow, in your own time and at your own pace. Our journey together so far has taught me so much, and I am so excited to take this next big step with you.

    1. Ha! Time does fly, but I feel like I have a pretty good hold on the present, and am soaking it all up the best that I can. Watching them grow, I agree, is amazing.

  4. Lovely portrait that made issa smile: "he has also long hair as me" (the best way to support his choice for long hair may be to see his friend having long hair too!). Good beginnings in your first grade, Reece!

Thank you, I will pass along your good wishes. xo

  7. I take to heart your words of watching him learn in his time and at his pace. You do such a wonderful job following his lead--I often struggle with that. Have a great start to your schooling year!

    1. Aw, thank you, my friend. It has been my goal, from the beginning, to let him lead, to let him move through this life in his own time and at his own pace. It isn't always easy, and there are times I need to remind myself why we do what we do, but it always comes back to trusting him, and the path he has chosen to walk.

Thank you, we had a great start today. Wishing you guys all the best on your homeschooling journey this year too.
