On Solstice Morning

Upon waking on Solstice morning my little man headed straight outside. He seemed determined about something, but I wasn't sure what. A moment later he came to the back door with a handful of beautiful, ripe, summer solstice strawberries. "Look mom!" he yelled, so proud of the beautiful gift in his hands.

Summer is here, my friends, and the gifts this season will bring are just beginning. Enjoy!

    1. Thanks Karen. I have a pretty good feeling about this summer. It has started off pretty darn good, and if all keeps moving as it is, it will definitely be a good one :)

  5. You grew those! So exciting. Our Colorado strawberries are never much better than a walnut. Still, good, but tiny :)

    Happy summer my friend. xo

  9. Oh my goodness, I so love this!

It's been a rather strange few weeks and while it's generally all been good stuff it's lent a strangeness to our days. We have yet to make it strawberry picking and Solstice on Monday wasn't our usual celebration. We did celebrate the day before, which I am glad for, and we did aquire some local strawberries from our favorite farm but we've just been a little out of our usual early summer groove (me being sick and my car completely dying being the two main reasons).

Here's a little peek into our night:

And here's our Solstice Celebration (though I'm missing our usual solstice strawberries):

Hope all is well, dear friend! xo

    1. Aw, I am so sorry that things seems to be a little off, but it sounds like you are still finding ways to bring some happy into this time of year. I am sure you will find your summer groove, hang in there, it will come.

  10. what a perfect solstice gift! such a thoughtful little man you have there! the solstice passing is bittersweet for me. the thought of moving back towards winter is such a strange one, but the longest day is a bit too long for me. just like the shortest day it kind of wrecks a little havoc on our daily rhythm.

    1. Indeed! And since solstice it has gifted us many more strawberries.

Thank you, my little man is amazing, and although he has is moments, like us all, he is a very thoughtful and caring young man.

Yes, I kinda feel the same way, sad that we have reached it and are slowly moving back towards winter, but we also have a lot of time to enjoy it, so for now I will soak it up.
