{This Moment}
{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words -
capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary
moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.
If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments for all to find and see. Inspired by Soulemama.

Farm to Table Through the Year
Today is the day! You can download your free copy of Farm to Table Through the Seasons.
Farm to Table Through the Year is a culinary and gardening journey through the 12 months of the year
with growing tips, first hand growing information, recipes, and photos
to inspire you in your own backyard and in your kitchen this year.
This e-book is a collaboration of some pretty amazing bloggers and came together with the hard work and dedication of Gretchen from The Backyard Farming Connection.
I am honoured to be a part of it and am so excited to be sharing it with you today.
Download your copy of Farm to Table Through the Seasons and let me know what you think.
A Little Nature Walk
A little marsh walk to fill our morning yesterday. Reece was pretty excited to see a crab up close, heck, I was too! And the pelicans. We have been watching them in flight all week, but this up close encounter was wonderful. Such an amazing bird.
The afternoon was spent in the pool splashing around and enjoying the sunshine. Then after dinner Reece was determined to walk the entire boardwalk. So away we went. He ran, I walked. He held my hand, I held his. We talked, we laughed. We stopped for tea and to look at little treasures along the way. And yes, he walked the whole thing from one end to the other and back. He was pretty darn proud and mentioned as we rode up in the elevator to our room that his legs were a little tired.

A Rainy Day
A little rainy day fun yesterday...a visit to the aquarium. We had a great time. The last picture pretty much sums up what Reece thought.

Exploring
We stepped onto the trail. Backpack packed with bird guides, tracking guides, water and lunch. I took a deep breath, the smell was glorious..it was the smell of the woods. I closed my eyes and listened. The birds were calling, beautiful sounds I had never heard before. We took our first steps into the woods and I felt it, that sudden release and the feeling of being at home.
Our first few days here have been filled with time on the beach and time in the pool. We have walked the boardwalk, watched dolphins in the ocean and found treasures on the beach. We have been enjoying Mother Nature, but I needed the woods. And so to the woods we went.
Reece and I explored Myrtle Beach State Park yesterday and had a wonderful time. We hiked, we peeked in a ton of little fairy homes, we looked at trees and their leaves, we tried to find animal prints (much harder to do without the snow) and listened to the songs of many different birds we hadn't heard before.
We stopped by the ocean for a little picnic. It was just us, watching the waves roll in and the pelicans flying above us. It was amazing. We packed up our stuff and hand in hand headed back to the trail. We ran, we walked, we talked and we laughed. There were moments of silence broken by the call of an unknown bird. We would stop and listen, trying to find it among the trees. We would spot it and quickly see if we could find in our new guide.
It was the perfect way to spend most of our day, connecting to something we know, in a different part of the world. As we approached the end of the trail I asked him about the most favourite part of his day so far. He looked up at me and simply said...the forest.

Our Weekend
A weekend of walks on the beach with my little man, treasures found along the way and beautiful sunsets. We have been exploring, swimming, playing, laughing and spending time with my parents. Most importantly, we have been spending time together, just the two of us, and enjoying each and every moment.
How was your weekend?
