Every few days I grab a basket and my scissors, and head out for a walk around the gardens to gather flowers. The flowers come in and are arranged in little jars, mason jars, and even watering cans...anything goes, then they are placed inside and out, bringing a little bit of colour and happy to our home.
It's flower season around here, my friends, and I love it!
what a wonderfully happy display. an indoor meadow.
ReplyDeleteHehe, yes, an indoor meadow. I like that!
DeleteThey are so pretty Kim.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday and happy week to you my dear friend.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your comment to my
blog post, they mean so much to me.
Thank you Tracey, same to you.
DeleteYou are most welcome, I meant every word :)
xo
And you come back with so much beauty :) Mari
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Mari. xo
DeleteThis is on our list today - collecting flowers as part of a nature camp we are doing. I love your collection! Wow, so beautiful and look at all that yarrow! Yay!
ReplyDeleteHope you had fun! Yes, lots of yarrow around here, both in the garden and growing wild. I am drying some, and infusing in oil as well, and there is still lots left to enjoy in my flower arrangements :)
DeleteSo so pretty!!! Next year I am going to plant a wildflower garden! (I think I said that last year too and forgot until just now!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen! I can't wait to see it! We are thinking about that too, but I think I might be leaning towards more herbs at the moment. I can't decide :)
DeleteBeautiful Kim! We bought seeds and never planted them, I'll blame the impending wedding!! And I'll live through your beautiful flowers :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen! Live away my friend :)
DeleteBeautiful, it's flower season round here too, one of the many joys of Summer.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sally. Enjoy your flowers :)
DeleteOne of my favourite Summer activities is filling jars with Wild flowers :)
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't surprise me Suzy :)
Delete:) Beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteWhat lovely flowers! I also love your garden space (from a couple of posts back - I'm catching up). I would love to have garden space like that. Maybe some day... Thanks for sharing and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb! Oh you are so sweet to catch up, and thank you. Our garden space has been a work in progress for many years, and we are finally reaching a point where we are almost done...we think :)
DeleteWishing you a lovely week too!
We do the same thing around here. Nothing brightens up a home more than freshly cut flowers.
ReplyDeleteThey are such a simple way to bring a little happy to a home. So glad you are enjoying some too :)
DeleteHappy flower season! Must be wonderful to go into your yard and have all that beauty... we have to go to the store or the farmers market :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is wonderful, and I am so grateful to be able to do it. I will often pick up some flowers at the farmers market too, I can't resist :)
DeleteOh, Kim, they are just gorgeous! We are part of a flower CSA this year and we are so excited for it to begin! There really is nothing like fresh cut flowers to brighten any day! xo
ReplyDeleteThank you Shel. Oh a flower CSA, I like the sound of that. Totally agree, my friend. xo
DeleteSo much color and orange, I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carlin!
DeleteSo beautiful! In all of the years of my life, I think I will never grow tired of calendula. We just returned home from a trip to the mountains and the wildflowers are everywhere. Another sight I will never tire of!
ReplyDeleteOh Coco, you see every time we connect we find more similarities...I too love calendula, and can never have enough of it planted in my gardens.
DeleteSo happy you enjoyed your trip to the mountains my friend. Hope you are well. Wishing you a beautiful day tomorrow :)
xo
So pretty! I need to plant way way way more flowers. I've just been kind of experimenting with flowers. I think next year I will really give it a go.
ReplyDeleteThanks KC! Yes, I highly recommend it, always lovely to have flowers in the garden to bring into your home.
DeleteOh they're so pretty! I love having flowers in the house, even if ours do come from the buckets outside the greengrocers! They're local and seasonal though so at the moment we have Sweet Williams and soon it will be Dahlia season!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carie. Hey, that's okay. Doesn't matter where the flowers come from, they always bring a little happy to a home. Enjoy!
DeleteI planted sweet William this year. It doesn't flower in it's first year, but next year...goodness, I can't wait!
Your flowers are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love cut flowers in the house, and from the garden is the very best
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
Deletexo
What an explosion of colour!!! Just looking at your pictures is brightening my day, can't imagine how good they must make you feel having them in the house.
ReplyDeleteAw, so happy to brighten your day my friend, the next best thing would be to send you some :)
DeleteThey make me feel wonderful. How can you not be happy with flowers in the house.
Your arrangements are so sweet and bright! I know how much you will enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteAh, how I love fresh cut flowers... and so do my cats! Everyday, my daughter walks in with flowers from our yard and every night a cat spills the vase over. Which means that every morning, we mop up a puddle. *sighs* Your arrangements are lovely.
ReplyDeleteHehe, darn cats.
Deletegorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks Taryn!
DeleteThey are so beautiful Kim...I'm sure they make you smile everytime you pass by one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Erica, they certainly do.
DeleteBeautiful. Flowers are food for the soul. Feast well.
