This little man, my little man, well he is pretty darn amazing. To say we have had the most amazing two and half weeks together would be an understatement. The drive down was tough, the storm was brutal and driving on unfamiliar roads was even tougher. Reece sat calmly in the back, quietly playing with his stickers before dozing off for two hours...the only two hours he slept the entire trip there and back. While he slept I gripped the steering wheel and hoped for the best.
We made it and what followed was an amazing two weeks. We both enjoyed lazy mornings, little day trips, walks on the beach collecting treasures to bring home, afternoons in the pool and after dinner walks to Starbucks.
Reece not only enjoyed plenty of time with me, but lots of time with his nana and papa. Nana and papa made Reece laugh, they swam with him in the pool while I sneaked off to the hot tub, they joined us for after dinner walks, they had Reece up way to late most nights and made our stay so very enjoyable that we are already planning our trip for next year (just kidding mom and dad).
I had not expectations for this trip at all. It was a go with the flow kinda trip with Reece in the lead and it was totally amazing!
Thank you, my little man, for some amazing memories.
It's great you guys had such a wonderful time. xxoo

DeleteAh, a walk on the beach collecting. That is certain bliss. I love that photo--his blue hat, the texture of the boat. Great shot. And, just so you know, you'll wake up tomorrow and he'll be nine. That's how it feels with my first son.
ReplyDeleteIt was bliss. I know, it is all going so fast, I just keep trying to enjoy every single moment.
DeleteSo glad you had a fun trip and hopefully next time the weather will cooperate. There is nothing as stressful as driving in bad weather!
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty stressful, but so very grateful we made it safely.
