Yarn Along

Two of my favourite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Joining Ginny for Yarn Along.

This week was pretty productive for me in regards to knitting and reading. I found the time to finish knitting the shawl I started last week. It is now waiting for me to add the fringe, something I am hoping to do this weekend. I finished John Holt’s book, How Children Fail. This is an excellent read if you are interested in learning more about the school system and how it can fail some children.

The shawl pictured with another one of my father in laws beautiful wood turned bowls.

This week I have cast on with some lovely merino wool. I am working on a hat for Reece from this book. On the reading front I am all things chickens this week, trying to finish up The Chicken Whispers Guide to Keeping Chickens.

What are you knitting and reading this week?

  2. Reading?!?! Food labels, yarn labels, medicine labels...that seems to be the extent right now. Hubby decided to get a nasty cold and share...again. Sometimes he is just way too generous. Your shawl looks so yummy and warm! And soft. I just want to reach out and touch it. And OH EMM GEE!!! That bowl is so gorgeous! Your father in law is a very talented man.

    1. Oh no, I hope everyone is feeling better soon.

The shawl is really soft, so looking forward to wearing it. And I agree, he is very talented, thanks.

  3. Beautiful. You'll have to show us a shot of it draping your shoulders when it's finished. My needles are sitting in the exact same spot they were last week...and so it goes right now. Thanks for sharing your loving list yesterday!

    1. Yikes on the rooster, I am thinking that might not be a good thing :)

And yes, I promise a picture with the shawl on as soon as I get the fringe on. Should be done this weekend.
