"A photo of my little man, once a week, every week, in 2015"
Reece, we found so much when we went into the woods together, just you and me, this week...wild herbs, monarchs, dragonflies, snails, swans, ducks, rocks, and sticks. It was also a chance for us to connect, to each other, to ourselves and to Mother Nature. As we left the lake to wander back along the trail to the car, you stopped here for a moment and stood in silence. I am not sure what you were thinking, or watching, but I stood quietly and let you enjoy that moment, your moment. I am pretty sure you found solace in this moment, staring out at the lake, taking it all in. I hope you will always turn to nature to sooth your soul little man, it truly is the most amazing place to find comfort when you need it.

I think Reece will have a connection with nature as long as he lives and I have a feeling he will share it with his children when the time comes, that thought makes my heart so happy. Love the photo!
ReplyDeleteOh, it makes my heart happy too Tracey. Thank you!
Deleteprecious photo - love kids finding strength in their surroundings
ReplyDeleteThank you Alyssa.
DeleteHe will, Kim, because you taught him that. I'm sure he'll always remember and cherish the time you took to help him appreciate nature. I was just thinking, he would probably have liked something we saw today that my kids loved, a road-runner with a dragonfly in its beak, heading back to the nest where there are growing chicks.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer, I sure hope he does remember this time, and that his appreciation for the natural world just keeps growing.
DeleteOh he would have loved that! He has never seen a road runner, we don't have them here. So cool!
As usual, such a thoughtful little man :)
ReplyDeleteSo peaceful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful moment to capture. I always feel so blessed when I'm able to catch those moments in my kids. They move so fast... to truly observe them be still and fully in the moment is really a gift.
ReplyDeleteThank you Yanic. And yes, such a gift.
DeleteA beautiful moment. My sister and I were talking the other day about how we are the same people we are today that we were as children, but more defined. Our interests follow a similar pursuit, our personalities the same but more refined and mature... I think Reece will always love nature and be a deeply thoughtful person. It's who you have helped mold him into. Be well.
ReplyDeleteOh, I bet that was a lovely conversation to have. And I do hope the same is true for Reece, that he carries this love we share of nature with him on his journey.
DeleteThank you, my friend. xo
What a beautiful photo to match the moment.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sally.
