They are everywhere, and I mean everywhere...rocks! They have been picked up, washed, polished and sorted. They line the windowsills, they fill baskets around the house and they are separated into a container by differing colours, sizes and shapes.
He is in his element right now, enjoying the adventure of finding the next perfect rock for his collection, and I am loving every minute of it. Watching him, seeing his face light up with each special find, witnessing the care he takes as he washes and polishes each rock and then how he finds the perfect spot for it to sit and be admired. It is all pretty amazing.
I can't walk through any part of our home without bearing witness to his latest project, and it brings a huge smile to my face. I am not sure where he is headed with this growing collection, but for now I am happy to sit back, and just enjoy the excitement it brings to his days.
Beautiful rocks! They remind me of the ones I used to collect from Lake Michigan growing up, especially the pinkish one. I am always unloading pockets full of rocks... I should have my girls wash and polish them:-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, he is pretty darn proud of them. Some of these are from the shores of Lake Ontario.
DeleteHow neat is this- lovely collection he has.
ReplyDeleteWe love rocks around here too!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so awesome Kim!
ReplyDeleteWe are rock lovers here too. I love your attitude of seeing where it takes him and providing all the space he needs for his collection!
It is about so much more than the rocks!
Thanks Dawn, and yes, so much more than the rocks :)
DeleteI love collecting rocks too, as do my kids. I think a rock polisher is going to be on the holiday list....
ReplyDeleteHe comes by it naturally, his dad is always picking up rocks. A rock polisher...cool!
DeleteBeautiful, I collect them to, to enjoy in my garden!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Reece actually lined his little garden with rocks he collected last year :)
DeleteSo fun! My daughter has so many rocks, and I love the way you've organized yours! I'll have to look into one of those...right now all we have is a bag that is getting very, very full.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Oh yes, the bag, we did have one of those, but then Reece saw the bead organizing tray at the craft store and immediately saw a rock organizer. Lucky for me it was on sale :)
DeleteIt brings a smile to my face too. :) And he's got some real pretty ones!
ReplyDeletesuch a pleasure to see how he can bring us to love his collection!
ReplyDeleteI have a few rock collectors here too. My biggest one has been collecting for about 47 years and still leaves them in his pockets!
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, I have one of those too. Justin is forever leaving me little rock treasures in his pockets.
DeleteOh bless him! He is awesome, your young Reece! Now I see what you mean when you said your backpack is heavy and full of rocks from your adventures :) Big love and hugs to you both. xo
ReplyDeleteThanks Renee, yes, quite a few of those have been brought home from our hikes. Hugs to you xo
DeleteQuite the beautiful collection he has. Boy after my own heart...we have a bit of a rock situation around here. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sara, he is so pleased about it and keeps sorting and resorting his rocks. So awesome!
