Make and Listen

Making:

~ I left the house yesterday morning and came home to this lovely cold frame made by Justin with old windows we have been hanging on to and some barn boards he collected from an old barn. I love it when we can reuse materials and put them to good use. And I love that I will be planting seeds this weekend.

~ I took at little mama time last weekend and left Justin and Reece at home. Hanging over Reece's bed when I got home was this lovely mobile. And the best part, it glows in the dark. Reece loves it!

~ My shalom is off the needles. There are a few ends to sew in, a button to add and a little blocking to be done; hopefully I will be wearing it by the weekend.

Listening:

~ I have been tuning into to this amazing summit and as always it is very inspiring.

~ Nature connection is a huge part of our lives and these calls on Tuesday evenings have been really great.

~ Dinner preparations wouldn't be complete without a few tunes in the background. Lately there has been a little Jason Mraz, a little Pink, some Mumford and Sons and The Lumineers. A little bit of a strange mix, but hey, we like it!

What are you making and listening to these days?

  6. I love the cold frame. How exciting that you will be planting seeds this weekend.

Kim I'm always so impressed by how diligent you are at responding to people's comments on your blog. It's inspiring... but how do you find the time? What's your secret?

    1. I can't wait!!!

Secret...hmmm, I don't have one, except that I get some uninterrupted time to myself every afternoon while my hubby and Reece play. I tend to check emails, answer blog comments and read blogs at this time. It is about an hour and then I head out for a run some days before starting dinner.

  7. lol, if you threw in some Sheep Dogs and Whitehorse, you would have our play list today :)

Love the mobile. Julien has his stars on the ceiling over his bunk bed. And I am jealous of you starting seeds this weekend. I might have to hunt down some old windows!!

    1. Okay, so maybe my music choices aren't so strange :) Or maybe we are just strange together Jennifer :)

Thanks! Justin actually put a moon and stars on the ceiling while we were away and then the two of them decided a mobile must be made too! It is very cool in there are night.

      Good luck on the windows.

  8. I love that your entire family is so crafty. Those cold frames are gorgeous. We could do to make some ourselves as there is nowhere in our house that is great for seed starting with us not getting much good natural light inside and with a curious cat mouth that travels to every high surface. :) I hope you'll share photos of yourself in your latest knitting project, I'm sure it is absolutely lovely.

    1. Thanks Sara, we do our best and try to make as much as we can, so very satisfying. Of course I will, just as soon as I get it blocked.

  9. Great mobile! That gives me an idea of what to do with a bunch of glow in the dark stars and bug shapes that Levi has...might have to copy your husband! Our dinnertime Pandora shuffle is: Wilco, Beatles, Iron and Wine, Steely Dan, Patti Smith, Bob Marley and Family Folk Songs Radio...sometimes I'll throw in 80s Pop Radio if I need a little Boy George or Duran Duran fix. :)
