Dear Reece

I cannot believe four years have passed. It seems like yesterday I looked into your eyes for the first time. It is a moment I will never forget, one that changed my world.

Each day since that moment has been amazing. Yes, there have been some days that have been better than others but I am grateful for each day we spend together, whatever the circumstances.

Being your mom is my most treasured role in this life. You have taught me so much and forced me to look deep inside to discover who I am and what I believe. You have changed the course of my life and I couldn’t be happier.

Four years of mothering you have passed much too quickly, and while I can’t slow the next four years down I can promise you I will be present, aware and mindful of the journey we are sharing together.

You are an amazing little man and I am so proud to be your mom.

I love you.

  3. Happy 4th birthday Reece!

Kim, it does pass so quickly and if I dwell on it, it makes be feel quite sad. Being fully present helps us savour the moments and to be fully engaged as parents.

    Enjoy this day. :-)

    1. Thank Susan. I feel the same sadness if I think about it, so I don't, I just enjoy right now and let the rest unfold as it will. We had a great day!

  7. Isn't it amazing how fast time flies? I still cannot believe that my girls are no longer newborns. It has gone as fast as everyone told me it would (and then some)! This is one of the many, many reasons that I am forever grateful for the kind of life we live. That I get to be there every step of the way! I hope Reece had a most wonderful birthday (and you had a lovely anniversary of his birthing day)! May this next trip around the sun be his best yet! <3

  12. Oh, happy day to Reece! What a special note to a boy from his mama. He is a well-loved little guy for sure :) Love the play stand in the previous post. I found some stands at a Waldorf school sale and plan to try my hand at making silks this Christmas.
